Hello, everyone — good day and good evening! Thank you as always for reading.

The Chinese government is carrying out strict COVID measures, and anyone entering China is required to undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine.

And last Friday, the 12th, I returned to my hometown of Shanghai on a temporary trip, and in the day-before-yesterday's article I gave a video tour of the quarantine hotel I'm staying at — but yesterday morning, on day 4 of quarantine, I was told I'm a close contact and ended up moving to a hotel dedicated to close contacts...

You can see the video of the first quarantine hotel here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92L5RynvD6Y

"Before heading to the close-contact-dedicated hotel"

There was one more close contact at the hotel I was staying at! My seat was row 65 and his was row 69, so I suspect there was probably a COVID-positive patient somewhere between our seats... We were transported by shuttle bus, picked up another Japanese person on the way, and the three of us headed to the close-contact-dedicated hotel.

I don't know whether the person who tested positive was vaccinated, but I'm sure they had the antigen-antibody double-negative certificate when boarding the plane. At the PCR test after arriving at the airport that day, they were probably negative, but at the quarantine hotel you take another PCR test on day 3 of quarantine, so I think they probably turned positive at that point.

The incubation period is frightening! I was reminded once again that even if you're vaccinated, you must take thorough preventive measures!

And now I'm writing this note at the close-contact-dedicated quarantine hotel, but the room I'm staying in is seriously ridiculously huge, so I have to introduce it in a video! lol

The room is spacious and there's no inconvenience at all, but... I want to go outside! But since I absolutely can't leave, all I can do is work, write various things on note, film records of my meals and such, read books, do strength training, and otherwise stave off the loneliness.
